New Delhi - While approaching runway 29 of Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday night, the pilot of a Pune-Delhi Vistara flight reported distraction in vision. Around 10pm, the pilot of the UK 922 flight told Air Traffic Control that a green laser light approximately 6 nautical miles away from his location had caused the distraction.Following this, Airport Operation Control Centre informed airport operator DIAL. IMHO , the menace of LASER beams can be as hazardous if not more, as terrorism.
The possible effect can be too damning.
Law should be so framed or redrafted that any one found guilty of such a mischief is charged and tried for attempt to mass murder, genocide. In the least. Irrespective of the jurisdiction (country)

Can't imagine a laser getting through all that smog from six miles away. One way would to limit the power output of recreational laser and licence commercial lasers, however, you can't legislate common sense or change stupidity into intelligence.

Some friends are not awed by the possible dangers of LASER beam .
I just came across an interesting pictorial article regarding awesomeness of drone photography.

"Contest pics show drone photography at the top of its game"

I am tempted to give it a suffix metaphor of " .... and possible uses and abuses of drones "
One never knows what a criminal mind is thinking !
Such a sophisticated drone application can be abused for illegal spying or assault at public level.
No ?

Thanks, I'm not sure about incredible, professional is more to point. While true that I have not flown professionally for a few years, the passion is very much still there. If I may, call the authorities and report , but I woild advise against taking the law into your own hands, too many things can go wrong. I recall a while back a bystander stepped into the middle of a shooting only to be mistaken for the real culprit and some good citizen shot him!

Dear friend Wilbur Sanchez ,
Ur quote is laudable " ... how passionate aviators feel about those who endanger their passengers, their aircraft, or their personal physical safety ? .... "
I agree with U no end .
let us try to revisit the school level debates on subjects like "science (or machines) a good servant but a bad master '
