Airbus launches ACJneo Family with order from Acropolis Aviation
Airbus has launched the ACJneo (New Engine Option) Family with an order for an ACJ320neo from Acropolis Aviation of Farnborough, near London, which is the first to order the new aircraft. Delivery of Acropolis’ ACJ320neo, which will seat 19 passengers, is planned for the fourth quarter of 2018. Cabin outfitting details and engine choice will be decided later. I'd love to see the interior of this plane -- a A320 with accomodations for just 19 passengers must be quite comfy.
Doris Duke of Duke cigarette fame had a 733 that was configured with something like this seating capacity and basically just looked empty.
Interior design, technology and materials have come a long way since then. I doubt that Acropolis' plane will look anything like the plane of Ms. Duke.
Of that I have no doubt! The airframe had something like 500 hrs. at 15 years and her death and sale. Just a weird tidbit. The rich are different, they have money!
