DOD Sec Esper approves housing for up to 1,000 evacuated from coronavirus-affected areas
The Pentagon is preparing to provide housing for as many as 1,000 people who may have to be quarantined after returning to the U.S. from areas affected by the coronavirus outbreak. Evacuees will be monitored for 14 days and will be transported to a local hospital if they show symptoms of the potentially deadly virus. Bases are listed in article (www.politico.com) Mais...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
What does this have to do with aviation?
"The Pentagon has selected four locations to assist an evacuation operation, including Travis Air Force Base and Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in California; the 168th Regiment, Regional Training Institute in Colorado; and Lackland Air Force Base in Texas."
- Evacuation flights need to land somewhere, that's what it has to do with aviation. Government sponsored evacuation flights would presumably be directed to land at or near those military bases. in case you don't know, Travis is just north of SFO, Miramar near SAN, also near DEN, Lackland near DFW.

correction - 168th Regiment, Regional Training Institute is near Colorado Springs, (south of Denver )
