Enjoy your well earned retirement, ma'am. I would love to see the numbers from this ship's resume - hours, cycles, passenger count, miles. I am sure they are in rarefied territory.

I flown in 747s as a passenger for 36 years....including this aircraft. I get a feeling of sadness each time I travel in one because one day, they wont be flying.

I could not agree more. Once, flying from London to Phoneix, I got the happy surprise of being upgraded from Traveler+ to business. I can still remember the joy of climbing up the stairs to get to A61...

I used to love flying on a 744, I fear that I have actually flown my last as though as a lot of routes are now being served by planes like 788's and A350's. Nice planes but they don't have the magic of a Jumbo!

Well said. They might be nice planes and everything, but they are two storied giants!

Who are you referring to? I was saying the B788's and the A350's are nice planes but they aren't two storied giants like the 744...

They were an option, but not many airlines opted for them because it was so far off the ground and the fact that once you were in the plane you still had stairs to climb in a more cramped enviroment... No one with disabilities

She will be missed.... A fantastic plane.... A Lady To Work On and a Real Lady in the air... Proven one of the safest and even to be able to fly on 1 engine as was proven once... She has survived much and will be missed.

Goodbye to the Boeing 747
May you ever remain in the hearts of billions worldwide
A great aircraft you are, and one we shall never forget
For many years in the future to come.

May the Lord Ganesha bless you on this very occasion to commemorate your retirement.
