KLAS Secondary TSA patdowns

The TSA has the full body scanners located at the D Concourse check point. However they do not seem to be using them. Yesterday while waiting to board a Delta flight to KATL, the Gate Agent made on announcement regarding secondary TSA screening. During boarding I observed a female passenger being pulled out of line and body searched in front of about 300 fellow travelers.
