That's a nice photo and an interesting aircraft, Rick! I don't remember seeing a USCG aircraft that looks like this one. I did a little research and found this on Joe Baugher's website:
"EADS/CASA HC-144A Ocean Sentry
"CASA CN235-300 medium range maritime patrol aircraft.
"2301 (MSN C-167) delivered from Spain to Elizabeth City, NC Dec 21, 2006. In 2014 assigned to CGAS Cape Cod"
But under the tail of the plane it shows: HC-144B. So, I wondered what the difference is between an "A" and a "B" model. On the USCG website in the Program Overview for the HC-144 Medium Range Surveillance Aircraft it states, in part:
"The Coast Guard is upgrading its HC-144A fleet to improve mission effectiveness and situational awareness through the Ocean Sentry Refresh project. Each aircraft will receive a new cockpit control and display unit, used in flight management as the primary avionics computer for communication control, navigation and equipment monitoring. Upon completion, each aircraft is redesignated as an HC-144B."
Anyway, thanks again, Rick, for the nice pic!

Thanks, Greg, for the added comments!
Great photo made better by knowledgeable comment - thanks Rick and greg
You're welcome, Rick and Ian. Like I said the livery on this bird struck me as different and interesting, so I figured I would see if I could find out more about it. Thanks again for posting it!
