1968 CHAMPION 7ECA

Yup...NOT a Tri-Traveler....Tri-Traveler (or Tri-Champ) is a 7FC and I learned to fly in that type in the early 1960's. It was a slightly beefed-up Champ modified to have that little training wheel under the nose and also had a 90 hp engine. Wonderful and very forgiving little bird. Was able to solo after about 10 hrs of instruction.

Yup, its a 7ECA.

However under the designator CH7A all of the following are listed:
7EC Traveler, AERONCA
7EC Traveler, CHAMPION
7ECA Citabria, BELLANCA
7ECA Citabria, CHAMPION
7ECA Citabria Aurora, AMERICAN CHAMPION
7FC Tri-Traveler, CHAMPION

Apparently this is what FlightAware calls it when I post. Not correct but I cant seem to change it.

That is a great pic, Robert! You are correct about CH7A being the type code for the other variants you listed. Plus, there are more that a dozen other variants that use the same ICAO Type Designator. If you go to the Photo Tags section at the bottom of the page for your picture you should be able to change the Aircraft Type from 7ECA to CH7A, then click the Save button at the bottom. FA wants the ICAO designator in that field. BUT, then FA will display whatever name for that code that it feels like using even if it is an obscure/old/rarely used name. For example, the ICAO designator for a all variants of a Lockheed Constellation is CONI. But FA always displays: Lockheed EC-121 Constellation, even though few Constellations were military and even fewer were actually EC-121 versions. So, I hope that helps, and if not for you then possibly for someone else. You have some really nice pics in your gallery so, keep up the good work!
