The civil registration of this Sabrejet ought to reflect the FAA registry, which shows N38453. This would associate it with other photos of this aircraft.

I believe the "FU-487" is an example of USAF "buzz numbers" formerly applied to their aircraft.
The FAA registry shows the Canadair manufacturer s/n as 1487.
