Are you sure this is a test bird. The left wing appears to show the roundel of the Royal Netherlands Air Force.
This is an amazing picture !!.. Sure it was taken from another similar plane.. Very difficult to achieve with that quality of sharpness! ..How did you get it ??

Excuse my ignorance, but where was this taken? Near Nellis AFB? Truly fantastic shot (of a quite ugly plane!).

If I had to guess it is the north end of Panamint Valley, which is also called a few other familiar names...
