Please, a bit more historical accuracy... Worthy adversaries? Mmm, not really. Legendary enemies may be more like it. But the reality was, that the "Zero" was much older, smaller, and more lightly armed. It was on the back side of the obsolescence curve by the time the Hellcat arrived. For that reason, actual Zero vs Hellcat engagements were rare compared to the Zero vs F4f Wildcat furballs earlier in the Pacific war.

And... the "Zero" in that picture, is really not a zero. It too is rather larger and heavier than a real A6M. It is one of a set of modified AT-6 Texans the Commemorative Air Force rebuilt to match the salient features of the Zero for their Pearl Harbor reenactment show "Tora Tora Tora".

That is not a T-6, that is an actual Zero in this image.

FAA records: N712Z is a 1942 Mitsubishi A6M 'Zero'.

N7757 is a modified 1952 Canadian-built Harvard (U.S. T-6)

almost caught me off guard re N712Z vs N7757.
The A6M-2 N712Z is the real McCoy Mitsubishi.

I have no idea why the N7757 was even mentioned :sigh:

That is a great shot, Lyle! You might want to change the Aircraft Type Designator to: "ZERO." That is the ICAO code for an A6M Zero. Also, while the FAA does list it as an A6M3ZERO, it might better be described as a composite or replica.
