Incident: Lufthansa B744 at Frankfurt, rejected takeoff after uncommanded yaw

Enviado há

A Lufthansa Boeing 747-400, registration D-ABVS performing flight LH-710 from Frankfurt/Main (Germany) to Tokyo Narita (Japan), was accelerating for takeoff from Frankfurt's runway 07C when the crew rejected takeoff at high speed (about 150 knots over ground). (avherald.com) Mais...

Interesting that the Captain blamed wake turbulence off a 777 ahead of him. Somebody was too eager. That doesn't happen every day.

It appears he wasn't eager enough if he ran through the wake of the 777 ahead of him....Maybe he should have spooled up a bit more before entering his takeoff roll to get off the ground sooner.

Probably following the company plan. All them tires and pax inconvenience, plus extra $ in general. They save a lot of fuel money in not allowing him to get off the ground.

An sure that he had the popper take off power set you cannot spool up a bit more just because of only in an emergency should one do that.

I've seen and heard plenty of jets spool up a bit more before beginning their take off roll....They were probably doing more in the line of what Preacher said and using the company powersetting recommondation instead of common sense...One of the last flights i took was on a 757 that did just that..We got off the ground but plane wasnt happy about it and I coould tell because it started shaking like a wet dog.

Had that happen on a CRJ one time as a pax and it was not a good feeling. I don't think it bothered the other pax, but being aviation oriented, it scared the bejesus out of me. Fortunately, the CRJ 200 is well powered enough to get out of it, as is the 757.

Kinda like my experience; everyone else was just sitting there reading or listing to music...When the rotation started I was thinking we are really slow and sluggish...We rode the mains for what seemed like forever.

Where'd that happen to you at, KIAD going to KDEN last year? Long runway; I always wanted air rather than rubber.

The 757 was like that. She had the power and liked to use it. It was in the design of it. All are like that to some degree but the 757 was particularly finicky. That may be one reason there were no orders and Boeing killed it.

Personally to me, full throttles are there for a reason.
