If he has legitimate safety complaints which he reported to the owner and/or the FAA but unaddressed, this will go nowhere. If she is in Chapter 7 or 11 there will be a trustee involved. She might be opening a can of worms for herself, but it sounds like she is used to that.
the pilot did right. If he is stuck in a devolving system of unsafety, then it makes perfect sense for him to walk away
Citing safety concerns gives him a basis for leaving, if he detailed those concerns and his employer refused or failed to take corrective action. If he left because he found a position he preferred, and he has a contract requiring him to repay his training expenses, then the complaint may be nothing more than a ruse to avoid payment. I suspect his new employer may be the key to the mystery, and I would guess that it won't be long before that employer learns of the suit, and how that employer responds will be telling.
lynn tilton could not find any pilot anywhere who would work for her and was type rated and current? word seems to get around....I would prefer a command pilot that had lots of hours in the jet i wanted to fly around in, but that is just me....
A petty squabble. The only thing that makes this relevant to FA is that you will see more of it as companies start to feel the pilot shortage as it becomes a pilot's market.
