Incident: Westjet B737 at Toronto on May 15th 2016, rejected takeoff due to engine wash
A Westjet Boeing 737-800, registration C-GZWS performing flight WS-1246 from Toronto,ON (Canada) to Tampa,FL (USA) with 154 people on board, was accelerating for takeoff from Toronto's runway 23 when the crew rejected takeoff at low speed (just below 80 knots) reporting smoke in the cockpit. You'd think maintenance would take it over to the run up area and activate all pnematics,anti-icing and pressurization systems after running a compressor wash through the engines or at the very least leave a maint note for the next crewon what to expect?
I would think it would be part of the wash procedure per the maintenance manual and task sheet. (you gotta do it to sign it off). At any rate, not an attaboy for mx.
