Southwest's N705SW, which returned to service yesterday (9 July 2018) as one of the five SWA fleetbirds displaying five different Shark Week nose art "sharks," is clicked here just as the nose gear tires are about to touch down on to runway 16R at Reno Tahoe International about four hours ago to complete a KOAK-KRNO morning trip. Immediately after reading FA contributor Sara Orsi's post, I checked each of the five reg numbers -- and discovered that N705SW was at Oakland and just about to depart KOAK enroute here. At legal speeds, it's a 38-40 minute drive from my place to RNO, but I made it in 30 (one traffic light was red - lol) and I arrived with ten minutes to spare. Caught it landing (as seen in the above pic) and hung around until it departed. And I was glad I did - Southwest's "Illinois One" arrived and went to the gate right next to this one, so I was able to snap great shots with both of them together in the same pic. And I even got an added bonus: a Channel Islands-based Hercules departed RNO enroute to March ARB so I was able to snap some military metal too. All in all, an excellent two hours. Once again, I send my very appreciative "Thanks" to Sara Orsi.

Very nice! I would like to see a full-body livery of a shark on a Southwest plane, now that would be very cool.

Isaac, maybe your idea is the way SW will promote Shark Week next year. You're right; it would be neat. Sort of like Alaska's "Salmon Thirty Salmon" special livery. This new tactic is going to be fun -- trying to "Collect All Five" of the Shark designs: the Tiger Shark, the Hammerhead, the Mako, the Bull, and the Great White. The nose art sharks will be on the jets until August 31st. Then the decals will be removed. Also, on the FlightAware map, the icons for these five SW aircraft won't be "jet" icons. Instead, FA has agreed to show these five SW fleetbirds as "Shark" icons. That will make it easy to spot them on the FA map as they go from one location to the next.
