N5301N — - There I was, just taking a casual stroll through my neighborhood airport when a bright flash appeared...everything went white for a sudden and then BAM! suddenly a relic from a bygone appeared in front of me like an aberration. Fortunately I had my camera out and was able to capture this photo.

Lovely photo of an old 'stringbag' I'm not very well informed about bi-planes from the US. I do know just one from that era - a Stinson. Is this what it is? It would be great if each contributor could always say which aircraft their post is about. So please ask all contributors to add info re- type of aircraft. The World is a big space with many different aircraft types. Many obscure or old!

I'm sorry but I didn't see or read Paul Wisgerhof post. So there, it wasn't a Stinson! My request still stands though. The person post should always post details on the type of aircraft unless of course if they are asking for information on what type!

From the photo, you can see the US Navy type designation N2S-3.

Great shot!

Info: For U.S. registered aircraft, you can obtain most of the 'details' of the plane and its engine by going to the 'FAA Aircraft Inquiry' website, using the plane's 'N number'.

Type designator is ST75, which covers 11 different Boeing and Stearman models, all named Kaydet with other model designators added.
