In the majority of cases the Western aircraft were not 'owned' by those Russian airlines, they were leased and they have since STOLEN them!!! So when will we see the western institutions deduct the costs of these aircraft from gas/oil bills using international legal practices??? Why is it all the western institutions are so inept, weak and incapable of anything serious??? Or maybe 'Uncle Vlad', is a an extremely good friend of 'Ernst Blofeld', and a member of the WEF. And all what is going on, is merely a big ruse to deceive us all, and what's more, bankrupt us all???

I also flew with BOAC on their Comet 4s to Tokyo in 1959. Again, I fully agree with you the VC-10 was a fantastic aircraft however was a bit juicy. Just by coincidence on your comments, I flew back from Tokyo also in 1959 on Quantas Super Connies. The trouble is @Martin Allan, in 1959 I was not quite 3 years of age so my memories are non existent.

My late father in his latter years of employment with BA, was re-trained from VC-10s to the DC-10-30. BA had made an agreement with ANZ to fly their aircraft LHR-LAX return as a BA/ANZ codeshare and ANZ continued this flight onto Auckland from LAX. ANZ did not have rights to fly to the UK at that time. He loved the aircraft and said it was special, however after these incidents, he was aware that many passengers refused to board it, especially in LAX when they having booked a BA ticket were expecting a VC-10 or B747 and on seeing a DC-10 when boarding returned and refused to fly on that aircraft.

Well said Mr Alan Glover - the US Govt has been pushing and pushing for years and now they got their wish. Do check how many members of congress invested millions in the MIC in the years before this conflict started. @David wright Couldn't have put it better myself -- Was just thinking why on earth (unless of course you have family and loved ones there in that, as you quite rightly describe, Penal Colony) would anyone wish to visit that hell hole run by jumped up leftie dictators? As I remind many people and it was first quoined by a journalist in UK called Clive Anderson (himself a marsupial) that whilst it's correct that the population originates from the 468 ships of British prisoners sent in the 1800s, i.e. murderers thieves and rapists etc, the Politicians and Police originate from the Prison Warders sent on those ships who remained in AUS to run the Penal Colonies.
