Not sure that’s a good idea mate. Your job is to attend to ALL the passengers, not just the one. I hear what you’re saying and lean the same way but who takes care of the passengers if the dude kicks your ass and you’re incapacitated. You never know if that lil’ guy you’re certain you can take is an MMA fighter…..

Bummed but grateful I got to see her in Tulsa. This whole conflict is a tragic waste.

The odds of things getting worse are far greater than the odds of getting better. This is one were nobody can back down yet going forward is worse.

I see the mask mandates no different than the common “no shirt, no shoes, no service” rule. A passenger can get fined and kicked off the plane for refusing to leave the lavatory, refusing to buckle up or refusing to quit playing with matches. If abiding by CDC recommendations on board is too crushing on ones soul to oblige, it’s not the flight attendants job to negotiate middle ground. Don’t fly, problem solved. Everyone certainly has a right to express their beliefs but a business has the right to refuse service if one tries to use their assets as a platform of dissent and FAA disobedience. It’s amazing how easily people get offended/outraged these days when they’re asked to do something as simple as put on a mask. God forbid they be asked to ration like in WWII…….

Well stated Larry. Unfortunately, “implied bias” exists in all of us. It is genetic and critical to the continuation of our species. We carry the same genetic traits that cause “birds of a feather to flock together”. We can consciously try to oppress this ever present tendency but it’s always there. Some struggle with this inner conflict and to make it seem “less wrong”, they project it on others providing insight into their own insecurities. Imagine being forced down a narrow street. On the left is a large group of angry pro-white protestors. On the left, angry pro-black protestors. You must go through one of those crowds to exit. Implied bias has repeatedly proven you will choose the group that you closest visually resemble. That doesn’t make you racist, it makes you human. Humanity will never evolve genetically beyond that until we recognize it for what is is and consciously dismiss it, even when under pressure. This has been a great conversation even though there

Mr Morean, I am grateful for your willingness to share your perspective with Mary. Being white my whole life, I can only imagine your experience from what you shared and since you’ve been black your whole life, you can only assume your imagined experience with what has been shared with you. Unfortunately, our mutual inclination to assumption is an equal opportunity burden. I’d like to continue this conversation, would you be up for it? Maybe we can both learn something.

I rarely downvote anything because I enjoy observing the commentary but your reaction to two lousy downvotes earned one from me. Your initial post was neither fantastic nor ignorant but your second post was just ridiculous. Disagreeing purely by downvote doesn’t mean someone is being a troll, rude or hateful, it means they disagree. Labeling anyone and every who disagrees with you as “dicks” suggests you feel your statements are to be accepted without dissent. That’s not going to happen and surely you should have the capacity to understand that.

Good thinking but then we’d have to do something with Larry’s itty bitty fuel tank. If my numbers are right, he’d have about 7 minutes of fuel at full load RPM. I think the 4 corner burn out would almost be worth it!

Agreed. On older cars that was quite common but with improved thermal shielding on today’s catalytic converters, the risk has been greatly reduced. One only has to look as far as all those vehicles that raced to the scene not lighting fires under themselves. Something as simple as a rat chewing through a wire harness could have started this.
