British pols unload on Boeing, 'king of corporate welfare,' in Bombardier tariff spat

Enviado há

Boeing is the "king of corporate welfare," Britain's main opposition Labour Party said, accusing the U.S. aerospace giant of "egregious hypocrisy" in pursuing an illegal-subsidies claim against Bombardier that threatens thousands of jobs in Northern Ireland. (www.chicagotribune.com) Mais...

Boeing trying to convince Delta through politics to buy their 737 MAX versus the companies decision to purchase the CS300. Sore losers to Airbus and Bombardier lol, maybe if they had more ingenuity instead of redesigning a design of the 1960s.

You are spot on about that. You can say that about most things in the US (and Western Europe). Thanks to Unions, and regulations about things such as if a sodden slug does or does not get wet in the production of a capital purchase product...we simply cant get out of our own way. With luck, our current POTUS will flip the rest of the world the bird. Take our monies (including military) back...shut down a few bases over the globe and bring thing back to the mother ship (where we will promptly squander them feeding illegal immigrants and funding idiotic social engineering projects)...I wish I was really kidding as opposed to only half kidding...(then again, this is the internet so everyone will read this as some sort of manifesto! :-)

Boy, you guys are all up in arms over this. This is no more than retail non government owned capitalism marketing. Companies, no matter what they sell, will always test the market with a new product and do so at well below nominal pricing. That's the foot in the door technique that Americal has been using for decades. As for government backed financing, that to has been around for just as long, in every large retail market. If the airline business is so profitable, why has Boeing not started "Boeing Airlines" and sell planes to themselves?

Gee - any Boeing never gets any Govt help - say e.g. a couple of billion for a couple of old 747 business jets done up as presidential planes?

Ya know, I used to enjoy flying commercial airlines. They used to treat the passengers well. Now, the treat passengers like you’re riding a bus. This whole spat regarding Bombardier and Boeing just seems to me to be the old fight between the non US manufacturers and the American manufacturers. Neither of these two are going to benefit. They are simply going to end up losing money on both sides.

SUPPORT FOR BOMBARDIER FROM DELTA AIRLINES AND VARIOUS BRITISH SOURCES AGAINST THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION'S LED POLITICALLY DIRECTED TARIFFS GAINSPEED AGAINST BOEING CLAIM.
SPECIAL CARE WAS TAKEN IN QUIBEC AND OTTAWA TO FALL WITHIN WTO RULES. CORPORATE GREED AND BULLY TACTICS BY BOTH U.S. PARTYS. THIS PLANE FITS IN YHE MARKET BY ITSELF THAT IS NOT IN BOEINGS PRODUCT RANGE.
ALL NON US JURISDICTIONS SHOULD LOOK VERY SERIOUSLY AT ANY FUTURE DEALINGS WITH BOEING AND THEIR POLITICAL ARN.

With half the world's airliners now being Airbus your options are shrinking. Especially if you ever get of the USA.

I wonder why Boeing is seen as the king of corporate welfare then.

"...as they are a living mess"? Really? I'm American, and live "across the pond", and I tried to understand what you were referring to. Then I re-read your post and saw "America first works for me." And then I understood. You see, there is no "living mess" (unless we're talking about the White House, in which case I agree entirely), and it's a safe bet that you're simply a very a ignorant person.

Lol. Funny how name calling is the first responce to a different viewpoint. Stay put. You're in the right place. In the mean time we'll enjoy our viable general aviation market and go counterclockwise around racetracks.

Two things: First, if the shoe fits. Second, I wasn't responding to a different viewpoint, I was responding to an ignorant viewpoint.

I notice in all your posts you think anyone who disagrees with you is ignorant. That pretty much says it all.

I like NASCAR. They stand for the anthem. And they race counterclockwise cause the brits raced their horses clockwise.
