Airbus passes Boeing in wide-body passenger aircraft sales

Enviado há

Airbus trailed Boeing in wide-body passenger aircraft orders throughout the year, but now posted 134 orders to 113 for passenger wide-body aircraft. The orders were for 134 A330ceos/neos and for 42 777 Classics and Xs. Cancellations for 19 A350-900s were offset by an equal number of A330-900s as TAP Portugal swapped one model for the other. There were 14 new orders for A350s, leaving a net cancellation of five YTD. This left Airbus with a net of 127 wide-body passenger orders for the year… (leehamnews.com) Mais...

Well I can say without a doubt as a weekly flyer (domestically) I prefer an A320 over any 37 for comfort and cabin space - and to further lower Boeing as the "preferred" builder
I'd rather fly a Embraer 175 every where I fly including across the country - with the exclusion
of first on 57 which are hard to find these days. The 37-900 is so big it takes a lifetime to load and cant even climb to a preferred altitude until it burns off some fuel with a full load of PX

I miss the A300. It was the perfect a/c for our needs. Hate the 37's

Brand loyalty doesn't have much to do with this. With the depreciation of the Euro, Airbus aircraft have become a lot cheaper relative to Boeing as compared to a couple years ago. The stronger the dollar gets, the harder of a time Boeing will have getting more orders

This is a great point. But surely another point is the back-log of 787 orders for Boeing. As I understand it, the inability to get a 787 on the timeline that it wanted caused Delta to for for the 350s as well as 330s.

Turns out Fiat sells more cars than Porsche, but who are the happier owners?
