Not sure how much of a market there is for an aircraft like this.

Still not so sure about demand for it. Some of the design requirements for amphibious aircraft really take away from aircraft performance (speed, fuel burn, ect). Do you really want to make that kind of sacrifice for something you might never need? If your moving troops, traditional aircraft like the C-17 or C130 make more sense to me.

Depends on the area of conflict. Maybe no runways but nearby water landing is available. Obvious hypothetical conspiracy crap but maybe they're planning something?

So, does that mean "India Today" can speculate that the aircraft may have a future in a civilian role but, in reality, it is designed for military use?

Does what mean what, now?

A guy from the manufacturer made a comment about putting the aircraft to market, but I didn't see any speculation about anything on the part of the writer.

How does this compare with Hughes SPRUCE GOOSE?

The H-4 is supposed to carry over 66 ton & bigger wingspan than a 747, so why compare to a 737, I.D.K.?

The Spruce Goose Floats... With cheap China Labor and Shortcuts and cheap materials from items I have seen from china they had better hit the water running, or have a underwater recovery crew ready to recover it.

The Spruce Goose is not an amphibian airplane. It is a flying boat only.

Don't worry, the FAA most likely has given the Chinese permission to land on any Group Six type runway. Especially here at ORD where Daley is friends with them as well. See how that works,..

How about a photo? Or, are the Chinese still trying to protect it?

Let's think about this for a moment. You want a photo of something they haven't built yet?

LOL... One I will stay away from... Just think about the quality that goes into Chinese products and think about one of them things flying over... NO THANKS...

Whoa. You are aware that this is a comment board, right? You know, a place where people share their opinions.

You suck at punctuation and capitalization, by the way.

Haha, you realize that's a picture of the Japanese US-2 amphibious aircraft and NOT the Chinese TA600 that Paul asked about above which is what the article is about? So apparently for you it WAS harder to find than you thought.

http://www.autoevolution.com/news/worlds-largest-sea-plane-is-being-built-in-china-and-is-smaller-than-spruce-goose-84544.html So far they haven't built much of the prototype yet, this article at least shows a picture of a model & mock-up of the nose section.

Matt, the photo in the link you provided is a Shin Maywa US-2, currently the largest amphibious aircraft, and not a photo of a TA600.

So, I can't have a photo of the one they are replacing? All I know is there isn't a photo of what is a design. It is reported by China Defense Blog says that it will be larger than an A320. http://china-defense.blogspot.com/2009/06/china-to-build-worlds-largest.html
lynx318

That's an article about the JL600 from 2009 stated it would "be as large as an Airbus 320". Research is not your strong point.
