After watching it, I felt that it was like High School Musical 4. Too flashy. Sorry, it doesn't work for me.

It was fun for the first two minutes. Good effort, but it doesn't hold my attention.

It appears they cater to the teeniebopper crowd, and not to adults over 50. The video was chaotic, loud, and low ball.

If any, the message to Virgin is, do not treat all your potential customers as if we were all 'hipster dufas's'. Give us the information in a brief fashion as possible, without forcing us to ingest entertainment we do not like or appreciate.

I very much enjoyed the video... Thought it was funny... I am over 50.... However, I fly twice a week, every week... It would get incredibly old after a couple weeks... And as long as the video is, if they are on a short taxi, I can see a new delay code.... "Safety Briefing delay". I have seen taxi times even though rare of less than 2 minutes.... This video is 5 minutes long, but felt to be much longer for some reason.

Oh, come on now. It was artistic and creative.

Wait, the link took me to a slower james-bond style video. The safety one is definitely as you describe.

Its interesting ... once. Repeated forced viewing of this is going to cause regular travelers to fling themselves against the bulkheads. Their original animated flight safety video was well done and understated - and everyone always laughed at the toreador.

I agree it was silly and irritating to have to hear and watch.

If that is the trends, I think I want to go back to the past.

You don't know me nor anything about me so your statement is sadly uninformed. Taste is a personal matter. Don't allow yourself to be influenced completely by trends. Style is not a trend. So no person can dictate what style is to another. I stand by my statement it is irritating.

I don't fly based on a video, nor do I let a video control my emotions. Grow-up

Ok first I repeat you don't know me. So generalizations you have about me are unformed. Second, "destined"? did you mean designed or targeted? Three, not complaining. Stating my opinion which is just as valid as yours.

I notice you respond to more than half of the comments here. Are you that passion filled or just bored?

I am well over 50, a pilot, charter operator, AND I fly (as a passenger)commercially quite frequently. I really like the video. Perhaps this is because I have young kids and listen to their music. I will also admit I have watched the TV show Glee and enjoyed that as well, while some folks tell me that is painful to watch. I am not sure I would enjoy it if I was a cabin crew member - I do not imagine them saying "I just can't get enough of that hip safety video..." Regardless, Virgin is always a treat to fly with...

Can't say I agree with that. Complaint is feedback, and feedback is the way to tally and understand results.

I've never experienced seat pitch that large before!

I have a nightmare of floating in the ocean along with 250 or so fellow passengers after a ditching and everyone in their life vests blowing their whistles and shouting for help, the lights on the vests glowing in the dark. That is if I were able to get out of the air plane in the first place. Imaging a 380 or 747-8 forced to land in water. Boggles the mind.

Don't worry Jim, at the latitudes most planes fly over water, you won't last long. The idea of a life vest on Pan Am Clippers of 80 years ago that island hopped over the warm waters of the Pacific to Asia made some sense.

Today, cold ocean waters will claim you rather quickly, even in a life raft.

See, you have nothing to worry about.

In my reading of the aftermath of the sinking of the Titanic and the Bismarck, I learned the first thing the male survivors realized was that their balls were freezing. It was not a good death.

Super - at least we look at the buzz
very interresting

Well produced, slick, stylistic element that managed to get all the required safety information into a flowing musical number. It used a myriad of social stereotypes to entertain as well as inform.

I wish the actual plane had seats that large and well spaced. Had this been produced in an actual mock-up (too hard to shoot in a real plane, and expensive) most of the theatrical elements would not have been possible.

The real question is has the information been understood by the pax? I say no. The music and song may confuse many ESL (English as a second language) pax, and the dialog (lyrics) is hard for many people with hearing disabilities to properly understand.

Sir Richard is quite a personality and runs several fine airline divisions. I will agree that most safety videos are daft and this one is sure to catch a look from even the most jaded frequent flier. He does use subtitles to show the words, but that assumes the person can read. My experience is many English speakers have little reading skill.

For decades I have proposed a test in the gate area. Give everyone a safety card to read, then answer five questions from the safety card. It could be done with pictures, so language would not be a problem. Flub the test and after 10 minutes of study, another test. Still not able to understand? You get denied boarding if there is a standby list, or you get a no "alcohol wristband" and seated where you are the least danger to other people on the plane.

Seb, it was tongue-in-cheek. If you were a little more cosmopolitan you would understand.
