The guy checking in the gun, for his age, was plainly stupid for leaving a live round in the gun. Hope that he gets maximum penalty for the charges against him!
Good ideas Joel. The guy checking in the gun should be charge to the full extent of the law. Not only that, he should have his firearms license revoked. Highly irresponsible.
How about this: If you MUST travel with your favorite gun, it must be disassembled prior to checking. Better yet, the barrel of your weapon MUST be in a separate case. Mandatory $100 bag fee for a gun. And under NO circumstances can anyone EVER check ammo. Ever. Buy a box when you arrive at your destination.
