Interesting common thread in the articles: NO organized ARFF or EMS response to the incident. Just finished four years in this region (doing public safety projects) and the bottom line is that YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN if there is a survivable mishap. While you may SEE that there are ARFF vehicles and people in them, the reality is under trained, under equipped and under staffed. At MYEF, only one ARFF vehicle started; personnel were not ALLOWED to use the SCBA (they could get hurt, and there was only ONE). When will these countries be held accountable?
