Delta Air Lines to Buy Minority Gol Stake for $100 Million
Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA (GOLL4), Brazil’s second-largest airline by market value, said Delta Air Lines Inc. (DAL) agreed to buy a minority stake for $100 million. Gol is Brazil's second largest airline. (www.bloomberg.com) Mais...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
Get their foot in the door then buy the whole thing. Delta is out to be the worlds biggest airline. They control over 80% of the gates here at Minneapolis/St Paul International Airport and that has the bad effect of keeping ticket prices higher then other airports, even Denver International has cheaper fares then here. I have nothing against Delta expanding I just wish ticket prices were a bit cheaper here at KMSP so I could fly more.
Everyone is looking for open slots at Memphis International Airport including soon to come Southwest Airline who bought AirTran but the majority of gates are ALL CRJs and A320/A319s but only one B767 all of these aircraft are operated by Delta giving no other airline a chance to come.
If anyone has seen the new GE Aviation commercial, this plane is featured in it during a takeoff
Wrong post. Sorry
lol...your forgiven. I think we've all done that once or twice on chat boards.
This will be a good deal for Delta from the South to North end of the equation. They will get a lot of feeder traffic currently going to Houston and Miami and onward. Don't know they need the two 767s...one is a 200 and likely going to the desert.
Its too bad that all the BIG airlines have such deep POCKETS. Its called GREED! Just like the Government, GREED, need there be more said. Soon the price of tickets will be so high, that any normal person won't be able to afford the ticket.
