Well, the reason I was hired as an FAA controller was because Reagan fired anyone that didn't return to work in '81. They're not saying they can't quit, just there will be no severance. Like it or lump it. Welcome to the real world! I sincerely don't wish anyone hardship, but sometimes you just have to buckle down and take it. Show up for work and continue to be paid, or look elsewhere. <shrug>

What is airport security like in Israel?
There is no security line in an Israeli airport. Instead, each and every part of the airport is divided into zones where personnel are trained to look out for trouble and to intercept anything and anyone that looks the least bit suspicious.

Mr. Lehew - I think our unlimited freedom-loving culture would throw a fit the first time an American got "intercepted" for looking the least bit suspicious. There are a lot of great concepts practiced in other countries that would never fly here. We've created a culture of monsters who NEVER want to have their supposed freedoms infringed upon in the least little bit.

Most recent....this week I was in LGA flying home to Florida....I work for AA and had a boarding card for the non stop flight, but at the last moment it was weight restricted so I got left behind. An hour or so later there was a non stop on Delta to my home airport RSW. I had to transfer from Terminal B to Terminal C which was a pain but I got in the PreCK line which was long, but the TSA guy told me I had to go through the regular check line...I showed him my Delta card, my AA boarding card which said PreCK, and my AA employee badge, but he said no way, that I had to go through the regular line as I was PreCk for AA, not Delta. Tell me what makes the difference....but that line was over 2 hours long and fortunately I had time and made it. Privatize TSA for starters...it's so ridiculous the way it is now, and sooooo expensive

For me, TSA has always been more professional than the old airline hired security.

There is a reason that governments handle some functions- the private sector is a race to the bottom to see who can do it the cheapest, not the best.

TSA needs to be privatized like so many other airports. Ridiculous to be run by the Feds.

What they ought to be doing is firing the Government.

Eliminate TSA and return security to the airlines with federal guidelines. When has the federal government taking over ANYTHING resulted in a more efficient, more cost-effective outcome? (Before you offer a snarky reply, remember how many times you've complained about and ridiculed TSA.)

TSA sucks....way way too many people....fire 2 out of every 3 for starters and then get some highly skilled folks trained in human psychology and start profiling...let the little old lady through

And just how much more $$ will you be willing to pay for your plane ticket to hire these "highly skilled folks trained in human psychology???" They don't come cheap.
