Cessna Announces Multi-Year Partnership With Chip Ganassi Racing Teams

This type of sponsorship is generally $500,000 and up in terms of yearly costs. I can certainly see the advantage for Ganassi, but fail to see what this will do for Cessna. I doubt many will buy a Cessna simply because the name appears on the hood of a race car. I dare say that Cessna would have gotten more bang for the buck by using the money to reduce the cost of the 172 and 182 and getting more people flying. Pilot starts are low and likely to stay there and if a company such as Cessna wants to sell more planes, the secret is to increase its customer base.

Congrats to team Ganassi for their Rolex 24 win.

Will the Cessna sponsership be on the #01 Scott Pruett driven BMW today for the Rolex 24 @ Daytona?
