Aircanada will be keeping their 737 Max off the books until Feb 2020. They plan to lease two additional wide bodies to help with the traffic. While initially the max was booked off until Jan 5 - and Boeing saying they will be fixed by fourth quarter 2019 - Air Canada is looking for predictablity as they launch their nee reservation software. I think it is clear to me , that Air Canada has taken the position , that they want Proof , that what ever the Max fix is , that it will work ,is reliable and is proven . The airline seems to be saying that even if Boeing , FAA and Transport Canada signs off on the Fix's , the Airline is not going to rush to put their Max's back in the air . But sit back to see how well the Max's behave in other Airlines . It clearly indicates a very cautious approach in putting the Max back into service . I personally applode Air Canada's position .It has been a very long time since Air Canada has suffered an Accident , and there is no reason to jeopardize this achievement .......DGR

I would agree with that analysis. I know they want the predictability for the new reservation software, but your points make sense as well. I’ve just read that Boeing is slated to ramp up production on the 737 Max next month so they must be close to a fix with the FAA..

hi Airuphere , Thanks for sharing my opinions on what Air Canada will do with the Max . As for the Reservation System " soft ware " upgrades , that are planned at the same time ....Hold onto your socks . These kind of things are notorious for going very Bad . So if the Executives feel the same way , they will be plenty busy with the Reservation system , so why make matters worst by tossing the Max into the mix . Please !! One disaster at a time ......Thank-you . I'd love to read your opinion on this . Best wishes ................DGR
