Had a friend from the University of Miami on that flight. It has a profound effect on me to this day.

In the days after this tragedy, there was a lot of commentary implying the gender of the captain, and the quality of the pilots given that it was a budget airline. When the actual cause came to light, these scurrilous accusations quietly limped away.

Ahhh yes, the Everglades. I was a flight engineer with Eastern a hundred years ago & Eastern did a lot of air work over the Glades. We were in a 7 @ 2:00am over the Glades, checking out a new co-pilot from the Navy & we went into a crossfeed problem & lost all 4 engines at 6000 feet. Really gets quiet.

Sutch a sad event. I rememeber doing a school project on this a few years ago(had nothing to do with aviation actually).Shows how important even the smallest cargo safety infraction can cause a tragedy.

20 Years Later after ValuJet 592, Could it Happen Again?

Many improvements in aviation safety have come off the backs of airline accidents, and lessons from the ValuJet 592 tragedy is no exception.

I got to meet Greg Feith several times. I could not imagine what he experienced on a personal level.
