Video: Three-hour tarmac ordeal turns into pizza party
After severe weather forced an Atlanta-bound Delta flight to divert to Knoxville, Tenn., on Monday night, the ensuing three-hour tarmac wait turned into a pizza party when airport employees arranged for pies to be delivered to the waiting passengers, escorted by a police car. Red cells, flat tires and other issues and the public still wants to go. 1976 727 gnu JFK flat tire at the gate and passangers said there more that inflated why can't we go. Do you ever wonder on lease eqpt. Service crashes where you know they shouldn't have gone, but the passengers, music Hollywood, insisted on going and have more control than they should.

Reminds me of an American Eagle story a few years ago, I think it was back in 2010, but the Captain ordered pizza for the passengers after the flight was diverted and delayed. The Capt. paid for it out of his own pocket.
Hello Jimmy Johns ? This event could make the commercial.
Why does the media insist upon so much sensationalism? The original flight, DAL2101 an A320, did not "circle Hartsfield-Jackson for hours" as the report says. Instead, it had flown for +/- 2hr 43min (normally about 2-1/2 hr flight) when it was diverted to KTYS due to storms at KATL. At KTYS it did sit on the apron (not the runway) for 3+ hours. KTYS doesn't usually accommodate an A320-sized plane at the gate. The continuing flight to KATL was 39 minutes, arriving about 4 hours late. http://flightaware.com/live/flight/DAL2101/history/20130318/2000Z/KBOS/KATL
Actually when the A320 equipment is "scheduled" to arrive in TYS they can accommodate it and it will park at the gate. They probably had many other diverts at the station like they always do when the WX takes a turn for the worst in ATL, but they will park it at a gate pending gate availabilty.
