In private enterprise there are usually career limiting repercussions when poor decisions are made. Do you see any indication that the same will apply in this instance? If not, how likely is it that it will encourage more poor decisions? If these scanners were so good at detecting weapons, why were they not embraced by the prison system?

Just another case of the TSA buying snake oil from various suppliers who claim they have a golden bullet on sercurity. The TSA is run by a bunch of morons who will fall for anything except what makes sense like PROFILING

You'll still be getting to second base with the TSA every time you fly if you refuse to have your junk scanned by the L3 systems. Whatever happened to airports getting rid of the TSA altogether in favor of private screeners?

At least the 'naked images' provided them with some sort of motivation to stop standing around chatting with each other and actually open screening lanes.

'Naked' scanners removed, air travelers get back a little dignity
