Passengers of flight diverted to Tulsa wait for answers

Quick Facts:

A Delta Airlines flight was diverted to Tulsa Saturday due to reports of sick passengers on board.

The plane was heading to Denver from Atlanta.

Dispatchers with Tulsa police told FOX23 that several passengers reported feeling ill. Delta Airlines released a statement Saturday afternoon:

EMSA, HAZMAT and fire crews were sent to the airport to handle the situation. Nine passengers were treated for general illness and nausea.

A Delta spokesman said 152 passengers were on board.

FOX23's Nina Carter spoke to a passenger over the phone. They were told by crew members that another plane was sent from Atlanta to pick them up and take them to Denver. They were told Delta does not feel the first plane is safe enough to put passengers back on.

The passengers left Sunday.
