Boeing CH-47 Chinook (N238CH)
ADELAIDE AIRPORT, SATURDAY, MAY 7, 2022.
Comments
Afternoon arrival from NSW after completion of contracted obligations, had this been on time, it wouldn’t have been sunny. The cloud broke just as it was arriving.
Partner helicopter N237CH had arrived on Thursday and both are reported to remain at Adelaide Airport until later in the week when they’ll fly about 20 km to the port at Outer Harbour to be readied to for shipping back to the US.

Nice shot and find Gavin!
Thanks Darryl.
I'm gonna ask again! The ladder type fixture above the word "Columbia" attached to the fuselage....is this a special antenna???
Thanks
Thanks
Wouldn't this make a great flying motorhome? Land near a campground, pull out the awning, set out the lawn chairs and the BBQ and have a great weekend. Pick up and fly to another campground an another couple days. What a way to go!
Type designator H47
Gavin......
You are on The Board with a beautiful photo/ I love those Chinooks.
Iowa Army Guard still flies these beautiful aircraft out of Davenport IA about 250 air miles from Appleton.

My father is retired from Columbia. I think I still have one of there old hats. I often wonder if Dave Stoupe is still flying for them. At the time back in the 90s he was there top gun pilot!
Tim Fox, I believe that is an HF antenna.
Great pic of a great helo!!
Great motor home!

First time I guess I see a Chinook without the lateral tanks (just cover of landing gear)
This is Columbia's civilian BV-234 model Chinook, not the CH-47D model. The difference can be seen in the shape of the nose and all those pax windows.
Samuel Bixler - thank you. I reckon I made a typo. Wondered why no designation came up.
Gary - never thought of it but what great idea - if only.
Ken - thank you.
Sal - thank you.
