I have flown for a few hundred hours a Porter PC6 powered by the Turbomeca Astazou II in the mid-seventies. It was the initial turbine version before the Garrett TPE 331 and the PC6 Pratt & Whitney. We bought it from Air Alpes in France. We used it as a skydiving platform and for cloud seeding to protect vineyards from hail. Excellent climber and diver.

During my skydiving days, knowing the history of jump plane accidents and the way they are loaded, I was more concerned about flight safety than skydiving risks.
