Look Ma - no hands! (He's probably cooling off!)

We had 50 or so of these at Keesler AFB, MS in 1967, used for training and transitioning South Vietnamese Air Force pilots. One afternoon, two F-84 Thunderstreaks from SC ANG flew over the field at low altitude. They later claimed they were lost and trying to use the runway to orient themselves. Trojans scattering like crows from a woods when the hawk shows up. Jet jocks claimed they never saw any of them!

Air America used T-28s to attack the North Vietnamese Ho Chi Minh trail in Laos. Air America was a CIA operation. I was stationed at Udorn Thailand in 1972 and 1973. The base was half CIA. Lots of interesting unmarked aircraft in and out. The T-28s were marked as Royal Thai Air Force.

Ah yes, SNJ's, T-28's and then on to Kingsville. A lot of airplane to handle as a young NAVCAD.
