The biggest thing I see in the whole article is that it appears that fuel cost is not being applied to the CASM in most cases, both for the regional and the legacies. I for one believe in applying a nickel cost to the part that earns it. If they did this, they would not only have a true picture of cost but could easily identify a bleeder, whether low pax or bad, inefficient aircraft.
The other thing that is obvious and has been known for years is ALPA and other pilot groups giving up on the scope clauses in their contracts. It is good to see that they are probably going to stand their ground this time around. I just hope it hasn't gone too far already.
