FAA Flight Service Program Changes

To help reduce costs, on October 1, 2015, the FAA will combine Flight Watch Services with the same service that supplies NOTAMs, TFRs, and flight plan services. Dedicated Flight Watch frequencies will be decommissioned. Additionally on the same date, the FAA will eliminate the domestic flight plan format, and implement flight plan filing exclusively using the format used by the ICAO.
